Environmental considerations

Lappland Guldprospektering intends to be an important player in the long-term and, from an environmental perspective, responsible development of the Swedish exploration and mining industry.

Environmental and sustainability work in the mining industry is of utmost importance and is conducted as a continuous and long-term effort within our group. Lappland Guldprospektering strives to conduct operations with maximum resource and environmental efficiency both during the period leading up to the start of mining, during mining operations and after mining operations have been completed. The goal is to have as little impact on nature as possible and an operation that constantly strives to develop towards a more efficient way of working from an environmental perspective.

In Sweden, there is good historical knowledge of how exploration activities affect the environment and nature. Sweden is at the forefront of environmental considerations both at the time of exploration and final mining. The working method and choice of methods are constantly characterized by an effort to be optimized for the least possible impact. Lappland Guldprospektering uses many years of experience and competence with newly developed knowledge in the latest technology and expertise in the environment to minimize all forms of environmental impact. This objective will continuously be an integrated part of the Company's application for an environmental permit.

The Company's strategy is to eventually build a central enrichment plant to extract gold from ores from a larger catchment area adjacent to the largest identified gold deposit. Such a joint plant can process ores from surrounding mines with high efficiency, at low cost and in an environmentally acceptable manner without having to build expensive and environmentally damaging facilities at each individual deposit.

We are aware that several of our projects are in areas of interest to the reindeer industry. We will be open to a meaningful dialogue with the industry.

Our social responsibility

Lappland Guldprospektering strives to take a strong social responsibility for the communities, environment and people involved in the company's operations and the surrounding geographical area. The company believes that no project is successful without everyone involved feeling seen, heard and respected.

Lappland Guldprospektering operates mainly in regions that have been hit hard by the decline in the manufacturing industry and by rationalizations in the raw materials industry. In these regions, a mine establishment can help strengthen and diversify the local business community and thereby have a major impact on the region's long-term growth potential. Lappland Guldprospektering recognizes the importance of our presence in these regions and the responsibility that comes with this. Lappland Guldprospektering's ambition is to collaborate with the local community through training, industry councils and labor market councils. The company also maintains continuous dialogue with authorities, organizations, local residents and others who are affected by our operations in various ways.

Social responsibility does not, according to Lappland Guldprospektering, mean complying with the minimum requirements imposed on an actor in the mineral exploration field. Social responsibility means being at the forefront of development. In constant dialogue with people whose lives are affected in different ways by the company's operations, finding new and improved working methods and techniques, and that management continuously has an ear to the ground in order to identify new needs early on and to come up with responsible solutions.

SveMin, the trade association for Swedish mines, mineral and metal producers, has, with the help of the Minerals Act, formulated guidelines for its member companies to support their work with the work environment, external environment and social responsibility during the exploration phase. Lappland Guldprospektering intends to ensure, in a constant dialogue with the trade association, that the company and its representatives work in line with the current guidelines. The company will, through a lively dialogue and exchange with other actors in Swedish mineral exploration, strive for continuous development and stronger relationships with all stakeholders in the vicinity of the projects.
